About Dr. Rob Satriano

Experienced Physical Therapist in Baltimore

While at the University of Maryland School of Medicine DPT (Doctor of Physical Therapy) program, I began researching the myofascial system and its profound transformational influence over movement and function. Restrictions in the myofascial system are of considerable importance in relieving both physical and emotional pain.

I treat patients across the lifespan using various orthopedic, neurologic, chronic pain, and anxiety disorders in Baltimore, Maryland. I also train physical therapists, acupuncturists, and other health care professionals on dry needling and trigger point therapy techniques and treatments.

I’ve treated professional athletes, members of the United States Special Forces and Black Ops, and performing artists at the Kennedy Center and Hippodrome.

Bring Your Cell Phone to Each Treatment Session

I believe in providing personalized physical therapy treatments to my clients, going beyond the conventional practice of handing out printed exercise sheets and 15-20 minutes with a physical therapist who is looking at a computer for most of the session.

Instead, I take a more innovative approach by recording videos of my patients performing specific movements using their mobile phones so that they can see the movements they need to practice at home, with audio instructions to reinforce proper movements.

This way, my patients have access to video clips of themselves that they can use at home as a guide to accelerate their progress and recovery.

What Makes My Physical Therapy Practice Unique?

The heart of healing lies in our ability to listen, see, and perceive, and is much more than applying one particular technique or philosophy. My patients describe me as a kind, loyal, creative, dedicated, and “out of the box “ healer.  I am a teacher who is driven by my passion for helping others I specialize in creating individualized treatment plans based on the following approaches:

Sometimes patients arrive at my practice after years of treatments that only provided temporary relief or barely helped their symptoms. They’ve been told their pain is coming from one area, but I often discover the real source is somewhere completely different. I recently treated a woman with chronic low back pain who had seen multiple specialists. During our comprehensive 90-minute assessment, we traced her pain back to an old ankle injury. After addressing her ankle mobility and walking pattern, her back pain disappeared – we never directly treated her back at all.

Over the years, I’ve watched patients walk through my door carrying pain that has stolen pieces of their lives. The runner who can’t hit the trails, the parent who winces picking up their child, the weekend warrior sidelined by injury. Dry needling became my specialty because I saw how it could unlock healing when other approaches fell short. This is why I teach this practice.

Every day brings new challenges, but also new victories. The work isn’t always easy, but seeing someone get their life back makes every difficult case worthwhile. If you’re dealing with pain that’s limiting what you can do, let’s talk about it. Email me at rob@robsatriano.com and we’ll figure out the best path forward.
